Will the salary change
In January 2023 there will be “long holidays”: according to the law, from January 1 to January 8 are non-working holidays. Is it profitable to take a vacation
The presence of non-working holidays in a month reduces the number of working hours in it. To determine whether it makes financial sense to take a vacation in a particular month, you need to remember one simple rule: the fewer working days in a month, the more unprofitable the vacation is at that time. If there are few working days (or working hours) in a month, then it is more profitable to work and get paid.
Given this rule, January is the most unfavorable month of the year for using vacations. In January 2023, there will be only 17 working days (136 hours), which means that the cost of one working day will be higher compared to other months.
In January, the cost of one working day is likely to be higher than the cost of one day of vacation paid at the average. Therefore, in order not to lose money, it is better to work in January.
If you want to extend the New Year holidays, it makes sense to take a vacation the day before - in December 2022. In December 2022, there are 22 business days (176 hours), so there should not be a strong loss in money.
